Vou Theophanous
Vou is currently the Digital Systems Team Lead at SpaceAlpha Insights. They have been working on SAR satellite technology since they joined UrtheCast Corp. in 2016 as a Software Engineer. Because of the nature of working at a small company, throughout their career they have acquired a wide range of skills, including requirements engineering, system and software architecture, ground and embedded software design and development, internal tools development, and testing and verification.
Their experience as a team lead since May of 2022 has allowed them to develop their leadership style; they believe that fostering an inclusive and safe environment where each team member feels valued and supported is crucial to building a successful team and promoting diversity in the industry. Vou holds a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering from McGill University. In their spare time, Vou is the captain of their soccer team, a member of Q Choir Vancouver, and a DJ.
