Ever since Navi was a young girl she was fascinated by space. The utter vastness and infinite possibilities left her curious about what lies beyond Earth.

Navi is always looking up at the night sky, admiring the moon and stars. Throughout the years, she has collected fond memories from binge-watching Cosmos on Netflix, going for routine stargazing trips since high school, and watching her first Falcon 9 launch at the Kennedy Space Center in 2023. Such key moments have elevated her desire to learn about space and pursue a future career in this field.

She is currently in her final year at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Vancouver, pursuing a bachelor’s in Sustainable Energy Engineering. One of the reasons why she loves aerospace applications is the many interdisciplinary ways space technology is used to help life on Earth in fields regarding environmental monitoring, healthcare applications, transportation, and communication to name a few.

Her university experiences have allowed her to gain experience in various disciplines like mechanical, electrical, and energy efficiency, and she wants to apply what she has learned, into the space sector. She is passionate about working with children and inspiring future generations. She is currently involved in the SFU Rocketry team as director of educational programs. Through this, she oversees program development for STEM programs that range from robotics to coding and more, for students in the community in K-12.

In her free time, Navi enjoys exploring her creative side with music. She hopes to explore songwriting and eventually release something on a streaming platform. She enjoys jamming with friends and plays drums, ukulele, guitar and loves to sing. Navi embraces the lovely Vancouver nature by going on hikes and exploring the surrounding area.

Navi is so grateful that Zenith exists to educate Canadian students on the great opportunities that lie in the space field and is ecstatic to be a Zenith fellow this year. She is looking forward to connecting with like-minded curious individuals and taking part in the many great experiences underway as part of this program!
