Joanne Leung is a system engineer who strives to contribute to a better future for humankind. With a background in aerospace engineering, Joanne has 18 years of experience in the space industry with focus on the development of space robotic systems and mission operations. Her career began with the Space Shuttle Program, supporting operations for Canada's iconic Canadarm, and eventually for the Canadarm2 on the ISS. Working with organizations like DARPA and NASA, Joanne then transitioned to design and development of space systems intended as building blocks for maturing the on-orbit infrastructure. More recently, Joanne led the initial systems engineering effort for the development of all flight systems for Lunar Gateway's Canadarm3. Joanne's most current project focuses on developing commercial products to support not just Lunar orbit missions, but a wide range of space mission applications. She passionately believes that commercial space is the key to the future of humankind.
