Jack Tremblay-Lessard (Any/All)
Zenith Fellow Mentee, Class of 2025
Carleton University, Aerospace Engineering - Math and Physics Minor
Mentor: Cassandra Marion
With scraps of cardboard and magnifying glasses, Jack built their first telescope at 13, launching their love for mechanical design and space exploration: for as long as they can remember, they have always been tinkering. After learning of the Mars Exploration Program, they discovered their passion for rover design, and they are now in their second year at Carleton in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in math and astrophysics.
Jack has always been passionate about bringing opportunities back to their community and sharing their experiences. Through her role as Vice President External the Carleton Planetary Robotics Team, Jack makes it her goal to make planetary robotics accessible to all, running multiple intro to robotics workshops as well as participating in outreach to introduce high school students to the space industry. They also heavily contribute to their teams rover mechanical design, working to perfect and manufacture the arm and secure the teams wins at competitions such as URC. As Vice President External of his school's Carleton Mechanical and Aerospace Society, Jack also organizes regular research talks in association with the Canadian Aeronautical and Space Institute, as well as career fairs, tours, and many other events.
Jack enjoys rock climbing, mixed martial arts and multimedia arts outside of school, although a lot of his free time is spent stargazing in hidden spots around Ottawa.
Jack counts the days until they can join the revolutions made in space exploration and looks forward to giving back to their community with the Zenith Canada Pathways experience!
