Imogen Nell (She/Her)

Zenith Fellow Mentee, Class of 2025
UBC Engineering Physics
Mentor:
Danlei Chen

Imogen grew up in Saudi Arabia, traveling back and forth to Alberta over the summer months. Her awe of human flight grew fast while sitting in the window seats of those long haul flights. Beyond her interest in aerospace, she enjoyed technical challenges she came across in and out of school.

The passion for learning continued throughout life, leading her all the way to Engineering Physics at the University of British Columbia where she is honing her technical engineering skills and knowledge of fundamental math and physics.

In her free time, Imogen enjoys a long drive, taking road trips across provinces and states alike. She enjoys exploring the back country in both the summer and winter time, with a range of activities from biking to climbing.

What’s most important to Imogen is ensuring that the environments she has had access to continue to improve their diversity, equity, and inclusion across the board. She has helped start several initiatives at UBC to encourage the application of women and gender non-conforming individuals into Engineering Physics. She is keen on strengthening her community and driving events that improve the amount and quality of space that there is for marginalised groups in stem.

Imogen will be joining the fellowship to gain insight into Canadas aerospace community, advance her skillset, and above all, to keep on learning!
