Heidi Bathory is a Systems Design Engineer working at MDA, helping to develop Canadarm3 for the Artemis (Gateway) Program. She has experience in the aviation, naval, and space industry. She graduated from Carleton University's Aerospace Electronics and Systems Engineering program. Her undergraduate thesis consisted of creating a mobile ground station to receive signals from various NOAA weather satellites, which was later published by the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in 2020. Heidi has experience working with EyasSat satellites, CubeSats, and recovery systems for sounding rockets. She has enjoyed working previously as a Test Automation developer at General Dynamics, an Embedded Systems developer at Lockheed Martin, and an Electrical Designer at Thales. Heidi hopes to use her technical expertise gained throughout her academic and professional career to continue contributing to both Canada's and the international space sector.
