Zenith Fellow Mentee, Class of 2025
Toronto Metropolitan University, Mechanical Engineering
Mentor:
Peter Dyba

Floweret’s passion for space began the first time she watched the ISS glide across the sky from her backyard in a rural village in India. The idea of humans living beyond Earth filled her with hope and showed her that the universe is full of opportunities, inspiring her to dream big despite the challenges of growing up in an environment where women weren’t encouraged to pursue STEM.

Her love for problem-solving and real-world physics led her to engineering, but societal gender biases initially steered her toward a healthcare career. After working in healthcare, she made the bold decision to switch fields and pursue her true passion—space and engineering. Now studying Mechanical Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University, she is determined to contribute to the space industry.

Floweret serves on the Board of Directors at SEDS Canada, where she leads the communication team and helps connect students with opportunities in space exploration. She also mentors first-year engineering students and tutors high school girls from rural communities, inspiring them to pursue STEM careers. Beyond academics, she is researching the effects of microgravity, and competing in rocketry competitions. This summer, she is excited to gain hands-on experience through her first aerospace internship.

Outside of engineering, Floweret finds joy in stargazing, motorcycle rides, music, and travelling.
