Daniel Solano is a 4th year Applied Physics Student specializing in Electrical Engineering, at the University of New Brunswick. He has always been interested in how the world functions from both a fundamental and practical point of view.

Since 2nd year, Daniel has been involved in the development of the CubeSat NB imaging payload. He has helped with various aspects of the project including technical work, project management and outreach. He contributed to the optical payload, the printed circuit boards and the embedded Linux image needed for the success of the imaging payload. Begining in 3rd year, he has been the project manager of the imager, handling all aspects of how it relates to the satellite. Through this oppurtunity he has gained invaluable experience working on a real-world satellite mission.

In addition to his interest in the space industry, Daniel is very passionate about the environment and stopping climate change. He is interested in renewable energy techology, specifically fusion energy. He hopes to one day contribute to Canadian space development and help build a greener future. Daniel also loves the outdoors; during the summer you can find him biking all over his hometown in Fredericton, NB.

Finally, he hopes to pursue graduate studies in the fields of Plasma Physics and Electronics Instrumentation. His goal is to one day help develop direct fusion drives for long term rocket propulsion. He is thrilled to be joining the Wyvern Inc team this summer as a Zenith Fellow!
