Casey has been fascinated with space for longer than she can remember. Her first words referred to the stars and throughout her childhood she eagerly absorbed all the information she could about space. Her passion for physics and learning how the universe works led her to the Engineering Physics program at The University of British Columbia, where she is currently a 3rd year student pursuing a minor in Astronomy. Casey is a member of the UBC Orbit satellite design team where she is working on the Attitude Determination and Control Systems sub-team and developing test apparatuses for the team’s satellite. She has also worked with the UBC Mars Colony design team as a Mechanical Lead, researching and guiding the initial design of a Mars Atmospheric Simulation Chamber.

Beyond her academics, Casey is passionate about promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in engineering. She believes in creating opportunities for underrepresented voices and advocating for women in STEM and is working hard to create positive change.

In her spare time, Casey enjoys writing songs and playing the guitar and piano. She also plays ultimate frisbee and enjoys reading, forest walks, and spending time with her friends and her three pets!

Casey is proud to be taking her first steps into the Canadian Space Industry as she pursues her lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut. She can’t wait to continue reaching for the stars as an Engineering Intern at the Canadian Space Mining Corporation!
