Bryn Orth-Lashley is the Technical Operations & Service Delivery Manager at GHGSAT, an innovative Canadian company that is pioneering space technology to remotely monitor greenhouse gases and provide emissions data and intelligence to businesses, governments, regulators, and investors worldwide to enable emission reduction goals and fight climate change. He has a passion for enabling new applications of space technologies for the betterment of society, applying this passion to previous positions at QinetiQ (managing a project developing hardware and software for the International Space Station) and MDA (working as a Mission Systems Engineer and Commissioning Coordinator for the RADARSAT Constellation Mission). To facilitate this development, he also brings his technical expertise to policy discussions, such as international collaborations on space debris mitigation and space traffic management and through enablement of young voices in national and international space strategy development as the Canadian National Point of Contact for the Space Generation Advisory Council. Bryn obtained a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Astrophysics from the University of Toronto, where his research focused on exoplanet atmospheres, before obtaining a M.Sc. in Space Science and Engineering from UCL. Beyond the space industry, he enjoys science public outreach and engaging, travelling, kayaking, skiing, playing the piano, and performing in musical theatre.
