Alisa Norenberg (She/Her)
Ah-lyss-uh
Zenith Fellow Mentee, Class of 2025
McMaster University, Bachelor of Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering
Mentor: Donya Naz Divsalar
As a third-year student in the Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering program at McMaster University, Alisa aspires to integrate space medicine and engineering to address challenges in human spaceflight.
Fascinated by space-themed Sci-Fi books, Alisa grew curious about the vast possibilities of space from a young age. She currently serves as an Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) Co-Lead for McMaster's Interdisciplinary Satellite Team, where she has engaged in a wide range of projects. These include maneuver simulations, manufacturing magnetorquers, and collaborating with the Mechanical Team to design a deorbiting mechanism. Alisa believes that the unwavering support from her team played a pivotal role in her growth and in achieving goals she once thought impossible.
Beyond her technical endeavors, Alisa enjoys channeling her creativity into McMaster's first space magazine, Ad Astra, where she takes on the roles of Graphic Design Co-Lead and Writer. Through this platform, she explores the future of space exploration, delving into topics such as the challenges astronauts may face on Martian missions and groundbreaking efforts like the Europa Clipper mission. She also showcases her space-themed art using both digital tools and traditional mediums like acrylics and spray paint.
Alisa hopes to further venture into the space industry and contribute to future missions by supporting astronaut health and developing space infrastructure. She is thrilled to be part of the Zenith community.
